The Graph Tech nut offers increased harmonics in the middle and upper frequency range perfect for a rich and detailed tone. Designed to optimize sustain and response the Graph Tech nut is also self-lubricating which means returning to the original pitch after string bends is extremely quick and accurate.
Mini Tribute Humbucking Pickups
The SG Special is equipped with Alnico Mini Humbuckers, which improve upon the best attributes of the former Mini Humbuckers seen in the Les Paul Deluxe in the '70s, and the different Firebird Mini Humbuckers of the early '60s. The humbuckers have an efficient design that uses dual steel blades and an Alnico magnet to create a vintage voice that still retains plenty of chime. They are calibrated for balanced output between the neck and bridge positions, yielding everything from singing bluesy neck tones to crunchy and wailing leads, and have solid chrome covers.
Tune-O-Matic Bridge
Tune-O-Matic bridges are an extremely popular fixed bridge type due to their stability, reliability, comfortable playing position and impressive sustain. Additionally adjusting the string action and intonation is extremely simple with a tune-o-matic bridge. Simply adjust the height of the bridge with the mounting rods to alter the action and screw in or out the bridge saddles to achieve perfect intonation.
