The Gibson J-45 2018, Denim Blue features a solid wood construction for a superior tonal output and a full, rich, and naturally resonant acoustic voice. Equipped with a solid sitka spruce top, the J-45 yields a crisp, articulate tone while producing a broad dynamic range, providing a versatile sonic-character that is able to accommodate many different genres and techniques with equal ease. Additionally, the sonically-versatile solid top is accompanied by solid mahogany back and sides which produce a rich distinct warmth with plenty of resonance. The J-45 2018 features a round shoulder dreadnought body that was originally nicknamed the 'Work Horse' back in 1942. Mahogany Neck & Richlite Fingerboard

Constructed from mahogany, the J-45's neck offers a quick and dynamic response with added warmth and resonance to the guitar's tone. In addition, the neck also features a slim taper for those craving a smooth, slick and fast playing experience. Furthermore, the neck is topped with a richlite fingerboard that sonically-simulates the pleasing tonal output of ebony, adding a bright attack with superb sustain to the guitar's tone. Its sustainable richlite fingerboard also accommodates percussive techniques beautifully whilst adding an environmentally friendly vibe. Lastly, the fingerboard is sprinkled with mother of pearl dot inlays for added aesthetic appeal.

The Gibson J-45 2018 Denim Blue comes equipped with the popular VTC pickup from LR Baggs, which features a low-profile undersaddle pickup that's proven more stable and durable than many standard ribbon-type pickups. Additionally, the VTC features rotary controls for both volume and tone, and is able to capture the magic of the J-45's natural acoustic voice, projecting it purely and perfectly. Furthermore, this responsive pickup for LR Baggs also projects the rich sonic character that you'd expect from a mic'd up performance in a studio environment. Lastly, with an unobtrusive and removable control mounted just within the soundhole, a dynamic, responsive pickup, and easy-to-use controls, the VTC and the J-45 2018 together provide an idyllic setup for the professional musician.

Traditional Hand Scalloped X-Bracing

As with many of Gibson's acoustic range, the J-45 features traditional hand scalloped X-bracing. This specific type of bracing structure consists of two braces forming an 'X' shape across the soundboard which not only enhances the sound and offers a well-balanced tone, but also provides a reinforced stable and durable structure.
