The Luke 100D is manufactured with a basswood body which is a lightweight tonewood that makes those long gig nights a little easier. Basswood is excellent at providing fat, deep bass tones as well as keeping it balanced. It also has an excellent dynamic range and offers good definition for a clear and loud performance. This guitar also features a double cutaway which offers easy access to those higher frets and fluid hand flexibility across the whole fingerboard.
The bolt-on maple neck offers bright and clear tones with that extra pop and twang from the construction. The smooth maple creates the opportunity for fast playing and the V to C shaped neck makes navigating the fingerboard comfortable. Paired with a rosewood fingerboard, the bright sounds of the maple neck are accompanied by the warm and rich tones offered by the rosewood.
Equipped with fantastic electronics which offer many sonic possibilities, the Floating Vintage Tremolo Bridge allows you to pitch bend to your hearts content, knowing that the locking tuners will keep your tone tuned. Similar to the Music Man Luke 3, the Luke 100D is equipped with a pair of Custom DiMarzio Transition Pickups which can be selected with a 5-way pickup switcher. The DiMarzio pickups allow more dynamic tones to be produced, and with a more natural sound they work well for more smooth styles of music. The pickups are accompanied by an active preamp which offers even more sounds, with push/push control for a 12dB boost; the electronics on this guitar assist you with creating an incredible and versatile performance.
