For a limited time only, Walrus Audio have released 50 runs of the Messner pedal featuring updated artwork showing the snow capped peaks with a journeyman who has returned in a rusty red and teal blue ink on a cream enclosure. This unique artwork with stand out on any pedalboard, with an excellent overdriven effect.
The Messner pedal takes inspiration from Reinhold Messner, a famous mountaineer who made the first ascent to climb Everest without supplemental oxygen. This inspired the engineers at Walrus Audio to create a low gain-transparent overdrive that preserves the natural voice of the guitar, offering the same clarity and beauty that Messner would have found at Everest’s peak. Designed to enhance the guitar's sound without colouring it, the Messner overdrive can be used to dial in the exact amount of tone the player desires.
Featuring three control knobs, a toggle switch, and a footswitch, the Messner pedal delivers a wide range of overdrive possibilities that suit an array of musical styles. The toggle switch provides the ability to bypass the clipping diodes, creating a wide range of breakups from subtle to dramatic. When flipped into the open position, dial in a low drive setting to add subtle aggression to the tone, or switch into the closed position and turn up the gain for added compression and punchy tones. Use the colour control to add brightness to your sound, or dial in less to make your tone darker.
Like all pedals from Walrus Audio, this limited edition model features a durable metal chassis that is built to withstand life on the road. An easy-to-use interface allows users to easily shape their sound for the desired effect, with control options for Output, Colour and Gain. An LED indicator is also included and allows easy visuals in poor lighting conditions.
*The use of an isolated power supply is recommended for powering all Walrus Audio Pedals. Daisy chain power supplies are not recommended
