Solid Spruce & African Mahogany Construction

The Tanglewood TN5 SFCE AV features a solid spruce top that yields crisp articulation and delivers a broad dynamic range. Spruce is the most commonly used wood for guitar tops as it generates a versatile sound and accommodates numerous playing styles, from aggressive to fingerpicking. The wood itself is quite elastic in nature, which resonates well whilst remaining strong, and provides a focused, clear sound of deep lows, warm midi-range, and bright sparkling highs. Its brightly tone solid top is paired with African mahogany back and sides which delivers the classic resonant warmth of mahogany with a woody tonal characteristic. The African mahogany's unique internal dampening qualities create a balanced tone across the spectrum with a crisp strong fundamental. Being slightly stiffer than other varieties of mahogany, it is able to expand its frequency response, increasing the overtone content. This beautiful combination of timber is able to accommodate numerous genres and techniques with equal ease.

Mahogany Neck & Rosewood Fingerboard

Constructed from mahogany, the TN5 SFCE AV's neck delivers great warmth and resonance that responds greatly to many different playing styles and techniques. For comfort the neck has a shallow profile but with a wider D shape, ensuring both fingerstylists and strumming players are accommodated for. Its neck is topped with a rosewood fingerboard that adds a sonic warmth combined with a bright sparkle to the overall tone. The rosewood fingerboard also offers players a smooth and energetic playing experience and is sprinkled with white dot inlays for a classic acoustic look.

The TN5 SFCE AV features a super folk body which suits a wide range of playing styles, offering full tones with excellent depth and versatility. The Tanglewood TN5 SFCE AV Nashville V comes equipped with the TEQ-3BT preamp and electronic system, making it ideal for live and rehearsal environments. The TEQ-3BT electronics incorporates a responsive and dynamic pickup to capture the natural tones of the guitar, and a 3-band equalizer to fine tune and tweak the tone. Additionally the TEQ-3BT also has a built in tuner for tuning adjustments on the fly.
