Over the past two years a young design graduate has been working on turning his dream into a reality and pBone is the exciting result. The pBone is the world's first plastic trombone! The revolutionary pBone brings a modern twist to the traditional trombone! Its plastic build, colourful design and lightweight construction really do make the trombone accessible to everyone.
pBone Mini is incredibly light and durable and its special mouthpiece makes it easy for the very young player to get a great sound and quickly develop skills for crossing harmonics and developing a useful working range. The pBone Mini mouthpiece has been created with smaller lips in mind and is smaller than any other modern trombone mouthpiece. As well as beginners, anyone used to playing smaller brass instruments will be surprised at the ease with which they can play this little trombone with its dedicated mouthpiece. It has a full seven positions and has been tuned to have a great first octave.
The plastic material not only adds a pleasing aesthetic element with the choice of colours catching people's eyes but it is also at least 30 lighter than a traditional trombone making it perfect for younger players or those who need to transport their instrument easily. The smaller grip size and weight of the pBone Mini mean it is much easier for smaller players to manage. It is also very durable with the glass fibre slide and bell holding up to rigorous testing.
pBone Mini makes a fun, cost effective introduction to the world of alto trombone for any player. As it will take any small shank mouthpiece it would also make a fun addition to any jazz players instrument collection and is definitely the cutest trombone around!
pBone plastic trombones are also available in a variety of other colours.
"I have used pBones as an integral part of my unique BRASSED UP! shows since 2010. In both the education shows for children and the adult shows the pBones have proved to be extremely durable having survived 1000s of miles in a van plus 100s of performances. Their appeal works for both experienced trombonists and for people who have never held a trombone before. The attractive colours may draw people in, but it is the fact that they function so well as musical instruments that is really remarkable." James Stretton - Multi Brass Instrumentalist
"I have found the pBone to be an inspirational trigger to learning. It is almost impossible for a musician, or prospective musician, to dismiss the urge to pick one up and have a 'toot'. Combine this desirability to it's obvious robust characteristics and the pBone makes a strong case for securing it's role as the ideal tool for whole class tuition." Andy Culshaw - Sandwell Music & Arts Service
