The Tom

The SJC Drums Tour Series 18'' x 16'' Floor Tom has been created with a comprehensive versatility and powerful tone that bring rich attack and deep resonance, making for a formidable sound.

With its considerable depth and diameter the 18" x 16" add-on tom adds an overall sonic balance to your kit with its thunderous and mighty tone. With such a low-end boom the tom finds itself as the perfect company for the rock or metal drummer, yet remains versatile enough to be used in a variety of genres. The SJC Tour Series 18x16 Tom is the perfect addition to the SJC Custom Tour 3 Piece Shell Pack, Black and can be used to accentuate a variety of different styles.

Hardware

Hand cut SJC45 degree bearing edges ensure that shells resonate and consistently stay in tune whilst producing more sustain with an added brightness and attack, making the tom reliable throughout any performance. The tom's 2.3mm triple-flanged steel hoops encourage open and long sustain, further helping the drum to project and resonate. SJC Shield Lugs offer premium tuning stability and adjustability. SJC Shield Lugs are ideal for use in the studio because they don't have springs, meaning that external noise interference is minimal. SJC uses branded brackets for their floor toms that have been sized for 10.5mm rods. They are designed to have a lower profile, therefore, reducing the mass that is added to the drums.

Every drum is individually tuned and played to ensure that they are ready to be played upon arrival, meaning that SJC'S astonishing tone is at the immediate disposal of the player.

With a great sound also comes a great aesthetic. The distinctive SJC bade is located on the tom's shell, proudly marking the drum as one of high-quality manufacturing and craftsmanship. The sleek black satin stained finish and brass hardware upon a maple shell gives the tom a vintage yet modern look, whilst maintaining a distinctively warm tone.

About SJC Drums

With humble beginnings in Mike and Scott Ciprari's (SJC) Grandmother's basement, SJC has since developed into one of the world's leading drum manufacturers and suppliers. In the beginning, the brothers were determined to pioneer the sound of a generation tirelessly seeking to improve themselves and their drum kits until they had reached a state of perfection. As the brother's skills progressed and they got better at building, they thought it a good idea to get some of their friends to play their kits and start to spread the word. Bands such as 'A Wilhelm Scream' and 'Strike Anywhere' were some of the few endorsements from the brothers. SJC's turning point came when the musical sensation 'Panic! At the Disco' played the MTV music awards in 2006. This pivotal moment enabled the brand to branch out and endorse a variety of bigger and more diverse bands like 'Hawthorne Heights', 'Aiden' and 'Cobra Starship'. Expanding their already impressive artist roster, SJC began to reach unprecedented heights and managed to move out of their grandmother's basement and into a warehouse, enabling SJC to introduce a small number of new dedicated staff.
