The JEM7V Steve Vai Signature features these incredible pickups. With a humbucker in the bridge and neck, and an alnico single coil in the middle, an enormous range of tones are at the tips of your fingers. The Evolution neck and bridge humbuckers are the result of two years of research by DiMarzio. Designed for maximum impact and power, the neck pickup produces fat, punchy and loud tones, while the bridge provides tight, aggressive, and thunderously loud output signals. Featuring DiMarzio's patented dual-resonance configuration, they are able to reproduce more harmonic overtones than the more conventional style of humbuckers. Despite them being originally designed with live performance in mind, the sheer amount of presence and definition they possess makes them perfect for recording due to their ability to cut through even the densest mix.
The Edge Double Locking Tremolo System developed and manufactured by GOTOH, a highly regarded and respected company in the world of guitar parts. Originally introduced in 1986, discontinued in 2003, and re-introduced in 2010, the Edge is acclaimed by many guitarists as the finest tremolo system available on the market. It's based on the original Floyd Rose tremolo design, but with a variety of improvements. These include replaceable knife edges, a less bulky saddle, increased mass to improve sustain, locking studs, a spring retainer on the trem block, and a pop-in tremolo arm.
