The NUX NDS-5 Fireman Distortion is a 2-channel distortion powerhouse with detailed controls allowing you to sculpt your sound. Based on legendary circuitry, this pedal produces very amp-like distortion with a modern 'brown sound'.


This is perfect for tight, articulate playing, where clarity is key. That's not to say this pedal doesn't pack a punch, however. With plenty of gain on tap, you can independently tailor how aggressive your distortion is for each channel. This gives you two distinct driven tones to flick between, delivering deep adaptability.


Packed with intuitive functionality, the Fireman works around you to enhance your sound, no matter what the setup. Choose between 9V or 18V operation to fundamentally alter your tonal foundations - 18V has more headroom and slightly more harmonic content. You can also select true or buffered bypass for flexible operation. Huge distortion in a feature-packed format.

The versatility of the NUX NDS-5 Fireman Distortion is remarkable and allows you to really fine-tune your tone. This is primarily thanks to the expansive controls which let you do everything from adding low-end prominence through to independent control of how 'Tight' the effect is. These controls put you in control:

  • Bass: Adjust the low-end response
  • Treble: Adjust the high-end response
  • Presence: Alter the ultra-high-end frequency
  • Tight: Shapes the low frequency content (decreasing tightens the tone).
  • Volume 1: Adjust the overall output level of Channel 1.
  • Gain 1: Adjust the intensity of Channel 1 distortion.
  • Volume 2: Adjust the overall output level of Channel 2.
  • Gain 2: Adjusts the distortion range of the sound while in Channel2.
  • 1/2 Footswitch: Chooses the current Channel for 1 or 2.
  • ON Footswitch: Engages or disengages the distortion sound.

Go from tight saturation to unhinged gritty mayhem with the versatility these detailed controls unlock. You can even set Channel 1 as a less-intense drive, then flick to Channel 2 for more furious, aggressive distorted tones- the power's in your hands.
