A dual flange might sound complicated, but PRS have made it anything but. A simple, intuitive set of controls let you easily dial in the tone you’re looking for. On its left hand side are the settings for both flangers, consisting of Manual, Depth and Rate controls.
- Manual: Sets the delay of the flanger, from slow to fast
- Depth: Affects the depth of the wave form oscillation
- Rate: Adjusts the speed of the effect
- Mix: This selects between the two flangers, letting you use them independently or blended. Move towards the middle to fully mix the two LFO modules
Over on the right hand side of the pedal are a few global settings to tweak and adjust the final effect you produce.
- Regeneration: This setting feeds the tail of your signal back in to the front of the flanger, so it will start doubling up on itself, resulting a thicker and more pronounced effect
- Added Highs: As a heavy flange effect can influence your tone, this setting serves to add in additional shimmer and sparkle to your high notes if you feel they need more top end
- Dry/Wet Control: A standard Dry/Wet control which ranges from a fully dry signal to a completely wet signal fully modulated by the flangers
Rate LEDs provide info at a glance
Whether you’re on a dimly lit stage, or jamming in a recording booth with headphones on, it’s highly useful to see your pedal status with just a quick look. To that end, the PRS Wind Through The Trees features a few LED indicators to provide easy guidance.
Firstly, a power LED at the top lets you know if the effect is on or off, and below that are individual LEDs for each LFO. These lights will pulse in accordance with the Rate setting, so you can see the tempo of the effect without having to check the knob position.
