Classic Tonewoods

The Squier Affinity Telecaster features an alder body which is a traditional choice in tonewood and gives a bright and resonant sound. The neck is crafted from maple which enhances the sustain while the laurel fingerboard gives the classic look and sound of rosewood, which it replaces due to current CITES legislation - now you can help the environment and get the same tones and playing feel as rosewood.

Smooth Playability

The classic Telecaster outline provides a single cutaway giving easy access to the top-frets for high-range soloing. The body is smoothly contoured for a comfortable feel whether playing stood up or sat down. The neck has a thin "C"-shaped profile which enables easy reach over all 6-strings, while the fingerboard has a modern 9.5'' radius for a smooth playability when playing solo techniques.

Versatile Tones

The Affinity Telecaster is loaded with two single-coil pickups and a 3-way selector, just like the original Telecaster design. This pickup selection gives you a wide range of sounds, from bright and twangy bridge-position tones to warm and mellow neck-position sounds. About the Telecaster

The Fender Telecaster was one of Leo Fender's earliest solid-body guitar designs, based on his 1950 Broadcaster (later renamed 'Nocaster' due to a law-suit with Gretsch). The Telecaster's simple design, versatile tones and professional reliability made it the first commercially successful solid-body electric guitar which inspired countless future guitar designs. The guitar was a better solution to the trend in the '20s and '30s of amplifying hollow-body guitars by affixing pickups for more projection. The Telecaster remains prolific to this day and features in almost all genres of music and in the hands of countless players.
