High-pass filter and attenuation
Each channel's high-pass filter has a variable cut-off frequency of 16 to 420 Hz selected from the front panel and has an attenuation of 18 dB/Octave - also used in the ISA110 module that was introduced during the 80's. The high pass filter, phase-invert, insert point and phantom power can all be switched in and out per channel with the front panel controls.
Eight-segment LED arrays offer clear metering of both signals, whilst a calibration knob on the rear panel enables lining up of analogue signal levels to stop clipping and optimize your signal path for any DAW or recording system.
Superb sound spanning four different decades
Focusrite's microphone preamplifiers go back to the original Focusrite ISA 110 modules, when Rupert Neve was given authority by George Martin in 1985 to build a channel strip for his Neve console. Focusrite mic pres combine the very best solid-state electronics with transformer coupling and have played a key part in the recording of hundreds of hit records, making them the choice of leading artists, producers and engineers around the world.
Lundahl Transformers
ISA products have relied on Lundahl from the beginning, since their components were originally specified in 1985. The LL1538 has a 3-section winding, giving very low leakage inductance and an extended frequency response as a result of this. The Lundahl Transformers are housed in mu-metal cans to protect them from stray magnetism.
Variable input impedance and up to 80 dB of gain
ISA Two has two classic Focusrite mic preamps, with four impedance settings including the original ISA 110 setting. Variable input impedance lets you to go for an accurate, transparent sound or choose to highlight the character of your favourite vintage mic ? and anywhere in between. With up to 80 dB of low-noise gain, ISA Two can perform in even the most demanding situations.
Insert your choice of processors
A fully balanced insert point found via TRS sockets on the rear panel for each channel and is enabled with a front-panel button, making it easy to use outboard processors by plugging in your choice of EQ, compressor or limiter.
Mic Pre Masters
Focusrite are world renowned for the premium design and build quality of their microphone preamps, offering professional results for home and commercial recording. The Mic Pre Masters website provides video demonstrations and interactive audio stems which allow you to hear isolated tracks from recordings done exclusively through Focusrite preamps. The interactive demonstrations allow you to hear exactly how each preamp from the Focusrite range treats individual instrument elements to ensure you purchase the perfect interface for your desired application.
