The Retro 51 500 Series Pre EQ is part of Lindell Audio’s innovative ‘Retro’ series, based on processing modules from the 70s and 80s. Based around the highly acclaimed OPA1731 vintage opamp, the Retro 51 Preamp and Equalisation unit includes everything from built-in 48V Phantom Power to a switchable polarity reverse control. The built-in 48V Phantom Power is ideal for capturing studio-grade recordings for microphones and other sources that require added power. The transformer coupled mic/line input is perfect for capturing line level instruments such as sequencers, keyboards and more, as well as dynamic microphones. The Hi-Z direct inject input allows you to record instruments directly into the Retro 51 Preamp & EQ unit, eliminating the need for a DI box.
The Retro series from Lindell Audio captures the essence of retro-style processing modules, including an analogue VU meter reminiscent of vintage compressors and preamp units. The stepped pots for each rotary control provide precise control of your levels, allowing you to make subtle changes on the fly. Also included is an 80Hz switchable high-pass filter, which is ideal for dealing with problematic sounds, eliminating signal noise from instruments as well as low-end rumble while recording vocal performances. The gold-plated PCB internals and OPA1731 Opamp ensure optimal audio quality, combining rich, silky highs with a deep low-end that will punch through any mix.
