TAL Drum is a powerful drum sampler plugin with an intuitive interface featuring up to 32 virtual drum pads, onboard FX and the ability to create loops/sequences with ease. Inspired by vintage drum samplers, TAL Drum modernises the classic design, providing the ability to drag/drop samples directly onto pads, as well as the ability to incorporate up to four mappings per pads. You can also process samples using onboard resampling to capture the Lo-Fi sound of vintage drum samplers.

Whether you’re chopping up drum breaks for your next boom bap beat or slicing samples for melodic composition, the TAL Drum is a must-have for your plugin collection. The simple and intuitive interface optimises your workflow, making the chopping and sequencing process an absolute breeze. You can even record samples directly into the plugin, providing multiple ways to load in and manipulate sounds.
The interface allows you to switch between two different drum pad configurations, with support for 16 or 32 pads. Using the pads, you can drop and drop samples and audio files for instant mapping to that pad. You can even copy a pad by dragging it whilst holding the ‘CTRL’ key. You can even change pads in batches thanks to the ability to select multiple pads at once. The pads can also be named/coloured so you can arrange your sounds and samples with ease.
Each pad can have up to four paddings, allowing for quick and easy sound layering. This means you can stack multiple samples such as snares or kicks to create new and unique sounds. Also included are 32 voice groups with each voice group featuring up to 16 voices.
Not only is the Tal Drum great for sequencing drums and percussion, but it also features an onboard modulation matrix for shaping and sculpting your overall sound. The comprehensive mod matrix features an LFO, two AHDSR envelopes, a spline-based envelope and a range of other modulation sources. You can use the matrix to modulation pitch, filter cutoff, panning, velocity and much more.
You can also choose between a variety of time-stretching algorithms to suit your needs including a vintage-style AK4I cycle time stretcher. The different time-stretch settings are great for manipulating your overall sound including stretch drum loops and other samples. You can also toggle between cycle and random round-robin mode which can be useful for live performances and sequencing.
One of the most unique features of the TAL Drum sampler is the onboard Lo-Fi effects which allow you to capture the sound of vintage samplers. Using the effects on offer, you can change the way the plugin resamples as well as change the internal sample rate and bit-depth. This is highly useful for downsampling – allowing you to capture the vintage flavour and character of classic hardware samplers.
