Key Features
The Trevor James GVR Rosewood Wave Headjoint Piccolo is a fantastic, sweet-sounding wooden piccolo. Designed with high-quality sound production and ease of playing in mind, this piccolo is intended to make transitioning from flute to piccolo easier than ever. The front wall of the headjoint is slightly higher than the back, giving you better dynamic control and a thicker-sounding lower register - perfect for expressive playing. The rosewood headjoint offers the flute a softer, more rounded tone than pure blackwood.
Made from African blackwood (Grenadilla), this piccolo has a sweeter, warmer tone than its metal-derived counterparts. People tend to gravitate towards wooden piccolos for their soulful sound, especially for use when recording. Finished with silver-plated keywork, this gorgeous instrument is sure to turn heads. The Trevor James GVR Piccolo comes included with a sturdy wooden case, lined with felt and bound with leather for additional protection.

The body of this piccolo is carved from beautiful African blackwood. This helps to give it a golden, natural-sounding tone, as well as making it a pleasant and comfortable instrument to hold. A carefully carved rosewood wave headjoint makes it easier to control the dynamics of the instrument, as well as contributing to a richer, more focussed lower register - and softening the overall tone of the instrument for a more subtle experience.
Please be aware, it's recommended that wooden flutes are not played outdoors or in cold conditions. The warm air being blown through them can cause the inside to expand quicker than the outside, which can sometimes cause the body of the instrument to crack.
